![]() ![]() Other pieces were able to freeze the very heart of a person turning them cold and unloving. Some of the pieces were so small that they could lodge themselves into a person’s eyes changing the way they saw the world. But before it could be taken there the mirror shook itself loose and plummeted to the earth below where it shattered into billions of pieces. The mirror’s work was so thorough that the only place left untouched was Heaven itself. The mirror was taken to every corner of the globe until no place was left undistorted. Our story begins with a mirror, a mirror that was crafted by the devil himself and imbued with the power to make everything good and pure look small and worthless and everything petty and evil seem overwhelmingly important. It was adapted directly from the unabridged version of the tale and, I hope, still holds the spirit of the story Andersen told. For those of you who have seen Frozen but don’t know much about the Snow Queen here is much shorter version re-penned by me. Out of all the authors I have read I think that Hans Christian Andersen may be my favorite due to the sheer number of much loved stories he has written from the Tinder Box to the Steadfast Tin Soldier to the Little Mermaid and last but not least the Snow Queen: A Tale in Seven Stories’ written in 1845. I am a collector of Fairy tales and legends: I have read hundreds of them over the years. ![]()
